Today, Bay Area collective The Seshen announced a new full-length called Nowhere, which will be self-released on October 6. Alongside the news, the six-piece dropped the dreamy and propulsive lead single "Lost At Night," which introduces the album's central subject matter.

On the first preview, vocalist Lalin St. Juste provides context: "Lost at Night captures the melancholy and longing inside of the initial phase of a major life transition - the separation between Aki Ehara and I. The night found itself to be one of the most challenging times; restlessness saturated with memories and circular thoughts.  There was no longer that best friend to confide in about all of the intense feelings. Instead, I would wait for morning to know that I made it through." The track reflects on a profound existential moment for the two artists, who started their personal relationship and creative journey together over a decade ago.

The Seshen's new album Nowhere is a raw and vulnerable expression of loss, estrangement, and stepping into the unknown. With a sound that blends electronic, R&B, and indie-pop, this Bay Area-based sextet has created a cohesive work that speaks to being in an unfamiliar space - feeling untethered to the things you once knew.

Lead singer Lalin St. Juste's hauntingly beautiful vocals anchor the album, reflecting her personal journey through the complexities of love and loss. As a band, The Seshen has weathered their own storms, including the marriage and subsequent divorce of Lalin and Aki Ehara, two integral members. It is within this backdrop of personal growth and transformation that Nowhere finds its powerful resonance.

The band's intricate production work creates a sonic landscape that is both ethereal and grounded, capturing the essence of emotional turbulence and self-discovery. The profound impact of their experiences can be felt throughout the album, adding depth and authenticity to each track. Nowhere stands as a testament to the strength of The Seshen's connection as well as the band's ability to navigate changes and life's challenges while always supporting each other's growth.

Within the album's tapestry of sound, standout tracks such as "Hold Me," "Lost At Night," and "Waiting For Dawn" offer glimpses into the complexities of love, loss, and resilience. "Hold Me" captures the yearning for connection and the bittersweet struggle of reaching for it in the face of loss and change, mirroring the experiences Lalin and Aki underwent in their relationship. "Lost At Night" delves into the profound realization that a relationship is at its beginning of the end, invoking feelings of uncertainty, introspection, and the pain of separation. "Waiting for Dawn" exposes the restlessness and tumultuous thoughts one experiences while grappling with grief and the aftermath of a significant life transition.

Nowhere not only showcases The Seshen's musical prowess but also serves as a testament to their personal growth. It offers a window into the changing nature of love, the fragility of human connections, and the different ways to embrace impermanence. This album marks the closing of one chapter and the beginning of a new one for The Seshen, capturing their evolution as individuals and their resilience as a band. In Nowhere, listeners will find a deeply honest and introspective musical journey, shaped by the experiences of its members, including the profound impact of Lalin and Aki's marriage and divorce.
